Class SM-6 (SMLJ-6, SM-19, SMLJ-19) wagons entered service between 1988 and 1989. They are flat wagons with solid decks and retractable twistlocks designed to transport 8 x 5ft, 4 x 10ft, 2 x 20ft or 1 x 40ft containers. Most have buffers to prevent container doors from being opened.
