Description:  Class SM-12 (SMJ-12, SMLJ-12, SM-21, SMJ-21, SMLJ-21) wagons entered service in 1990. They are flat wagons with solid decks and retractable twistlocks designed to transport 8 x 5ft, 4 x 10ft, 2 x 20ft or 1 x 40ft containers, and with horizontal brakewheels at both ends level with the deck. Some have buffers to prevent container doors from being opened.
