SAR Blue Train Luxury Carriage, Side B         
This Luxury Carriage was originally built as a Type C-1 carriage for the Blue Train with an interior layout of, from the right, a passenger’s toilet, a storage cupboard, a compartment to sleep two plus one with an en-suite bathroom and toilet, a bedroom to sleep two with a separate lounge and an en-suite bathroom and toilet, and a coupe to sleep one with an en-suite bathroom and toilet. After a collision at Deelfontein on 26 October 2005 it was rebuilt into a Luxury Carriage with, from the right, a butler’s cabin, two twin bed suites and one double bed suite, all with full en-suite bathrooms, and a storage cabin. Side B is the passage side. In the 2005 Set 751 it was no. 13 in the train.
SAR Type C-1. Number range 8001 and 8002. Built in 1972. Length over headstocks 20.320m. Height 3.912m. Width 2.896m.
