SAR Class XO-3 (Side A)         
Class XO-3 (XOJ-3) wagons entered service between 1969 and 1971 and are designed to transport furnace oil (Diesel in this case). When undergoing a major service many tank wagons are now being equipped with a larger all round the turret walkway, like on this wagon. It is wearing the Transnet Freight Rail emblem.
