SAR Class X-18 (Side A)         
Class X-18 (XJ-18) wagons entered service between 1954 and 1956, and between 1986 and 1987 some Class X-17 and X-20 wagons were also converted to Class X-18. They are designed to transport water, treacle, oil and other similar products (Diesel in this case). When undergoing a major service many tank wagons are now being equipped with a new all round the turret walkway, like on this wagon. It wears the Transnet Freight Rail emblem.
