SAR Class CM-5 (Side A)         
Class CM-5 (CRM-5) wagons entered service between 1970 and 1972 and are reclassified C-9 wagons, designed to transport manganese ore. Some C-9 wagons were converted from Class C-1, C-2 and C-8 iron ore wagons in 1986 by raising the sides, while others were built full size. This wagon has channel iron bulkhead braces with closed ends and had its sides raised by about 600mm.
