Class CM-5 (CRM-5) wagons entered service between 1970 and 1972 and are reclassified C-9 wagons, designed to transport manganese ore. Some C-9 wagons were converted from Class C-1, C-2 and C-8 iron ore wagons in 1986 by raising the sides, while others were built full size.
