SAR Class CC-5 (Side A)         
Class CC-5 (CCL-5, CCR-5) wagons originally entered service between 1982 and 1984 and were still being built by 2006. They are open wagons designed to transport coal and to run in drawbar coupled A-B pairs, although at present they are often made up into drawbar coupled sets of three or five. The brake wheel, shunter stirrups and handholds are on the right end of the A side, which is also always the drawbar end on wagons with a knuckle coupler on one end.
