SAR Class X-18 (Side A)         
Class X-18 (XJ-18) wagons entered service between 1954 and 1956, and between 1986 and 1987 some Class X-17 and X-20 wagons were also converted to Class X-18. They are designed to transport water, treacle, oil and other similar products (Diesel in this case).

Number range 30 020 018 to 30 023 130 (X-18), 30 023 149 to 30 023 211 (ex X-17) and 30 023 238 to 30 023 246 (ex X-20), Length between couplers 13.380m, Length over headstocks 12.496m, Length between bogie pivot centres 9.144m, Height 3.870m, Width 2.515m, Tank diameter 1.975m, Tare (average) 19,500kg, Load 30,890kg (water) or 29,350kg (oil), Capacity 30,890l (full), 30,890l (water) or 30,890l (oil).
