SAR Class XP-10 (Side A) (Type 1)         
Class XP-10 (XPJ-10) wagons entered service between 1958 and 1963 and are designed to transport petroleum products (Petrol in this case). The type 1 wagons have their air tanks mounted under the belly. When undergoing a major service many tank wagons are now being equipped with a new all round the turret walkway, like on this wagon.

Number range 38 026 007 to 38 032 902, Length between couplers 13.380m, Length over headstocks 12.496m, Length between bogie pivot centres 9.144m, Height 3.740m, Width 2.515m, Tank diameter 1.972m, Tare (average) 21,010kg, Load 31,070kg, Capacity 36,490l (full) and 36,130l (petrol).
