SAR Class CF-4 (Type 1)         
Class CF-4 (CFR-4, CFR-6, CFR-10, CFR-12, CFR-13, CFR-14, CFR-17) wagons entered service between 1968 and 1978 and were converted from Class BA, CA and D wagons beginning in 2003. They are open wagons designed to transport coal. Type 1 wagons have end mounted brake wheels, two of the eleven side braces are T iron while all the rest are channel iron, and there is no obvious visual difference between the A and B sides.
