Description:
Class XH-2 wagons appears to have been converted from Class X-17 or Class X-20 steam locomotive auxiliary water tankers, which entered service in 1938 and 1953 to 1956. They are designed to transport water, treacle, oil and other similar products (Water in this case). The type 1 and 2 groups have turrets resembling half of a 44 gallon oil drum, and on the type 2 wagons the brake wheel on the A side is positioned to the right of the ladder.Number range 41 016 0xx to 41 017 xxx, Length between couplers 13.380m, Length over headstocks 12.496m, Length between bogie pivot centres 9.144m, Height 3.737m, Width 2.515m, Tank diameter 1.975m, Tare (average) 18,180kg (X-17) or 20,370kg (X-20), Load 23,010kg (X-17) or 30,900kg (X-20), Capacity 23,010l (X-17) or 30,900l (X-20).
