SAR Class C-5 (Side A) (A Wagon)         
Class C-5 (CR-5) wagons entered service in 1978 and are open wagons designed to transport iron ore. They run in drawbar coupled A-B pairs and only the A wagons are equipped with handbrakes and shunter stirrups. They are assets of the North West Cape region, originally Iscor wagons, which explains the 96 xxx xxx number range.
