SAR Class XW-5 (Side B)         
Class XW-5 wagons entered service between 1967 and 1968 and are designed to transport liquor. Some of them were converted from Class X-25 wagons, originally designed to transport water, treacle or oil, in 1968. This one, here standing in the scrap line at Ysterplaat, later reverted back to oil transport.

Number range 47 014 008 to 47 014 156 and (converted from Class X-25) 47 014 164 to 47 014 202, Length between couplers 13.380m, Length over headstocks 12.496m, Length between bogie pivot centres 9.144m, Height 3.872m, Width 2.515m, Tank diameter 1.972m, Tare (average) 21,730kg, Load 33,220kg, Capacity 30,900l (full) and 30,900l (liquor).
